I hate this world
It is far too cold
Everything is metal
Or coated with chrome
It’s all so ugly
It is the smell
Of the burning trees
We are destroying God’s artwork
It’s the bodies
It’s the countless faceless persons
They are dripping with toxic sweat
It’s everywhere and all around
Even if you don’t want to see it
You can never escape it
I feel like a child on a school playground
“I dare you” being poked and prodded into things I don’t want to do
How come they can’t see it?
Or do they not want to
Do they not want to realize their actions?
And what it will bring upon them
Are they afraid of forgiveness?
Or do they not feel they are worthy enough
Or do they just not want it at all
Or could they just be blind
I'm a dog on a leash
Screaming to help them see
Being held back by there lack of faith
They rip the petals off of white roses
There is blood on the streets
And names on the walls
But after they are outlined in chalk
Nothing is solved
These places are filthy
There is no life at all
Sheep herded down concrete paths
Leading to pointless lives
Jobs to earn money
To buy thing they don’t even need
Kill the “Jones’” keep up with yourself
Live life the way you want to
Not the way some image millions of miles away tells you to
Live free, spread your soul and fly like a dove
Reach to the sky like an oak tall and strong
Sink your roots deep into the earth and absorb it all
Life is the sweetest of fruit
Come and kiss its nectar
Open your eyes
So your heart may sing with joy
For a life without a joyful heart
Is no life at all?
May these words wrap around the walls you have built
To harden your hearts
And crumble them
Rip them down until they are a pile of rubble
My these silly thoughts of fancy
Be turned it amazing actions
Lets make history
For we have yet to change the world
There is so much more we can do
STOP!!! Right Now!!!
Reach down and pick up that can you have kicked
Give it a bigger purpose
Don’t throw it aside as if it were trash
Lets change it, so no side has greener grass
Don’t give into lies and hate
Things can and will change
We can save the hopeless
And protect the meek
For as one we are few
And as two we are weak
But all united we stand strong
Let us build a new world
For all to come and see
And marvel in the joy we can bring
May songs never be battle cries?
But cries of rejoice
For we have seen the lord
And done our work
Through him
For him
And with him
May another drop of blood never be wasted?
And saved for those who need it
May we never have to shed tears?
For lives that did not need to be lost
But may we shed tears of life
Tears the nurture the ground
That our gracious God has blessed us with
May we never forget these days?
The years of forgiveness
The century of life
Generation epiphany
